Welcome to our parish

We’re delighted you’ve found your way to Protection of the Virgin Mary (PTVM) Orthodox Church! Whether you’re exploring Orthodox Christianity for the first time, returning after time away, relocating, or simply visiting, we’re here to walk with you on your journey.

Our congregation is a beautiful mosaic of people from all walks of life. Some of us have been blessed to grow up in the Orthodox faith, cherishing its sacred traditions from childhood, while others have joyfully embraced Orthodox Christianity after journeying through different religious paths or non-religious backgrounds. We also have members who stepped away from the faith for a time but later returned, rediscovering the beauty and depth of Orthodoxy. Whether you’re rediscovering a familiar path or stepping into something new, we’re here to support you as you explore the richness of Orthodox faith and worship.

  • Our liturgical services are conducted in the English language.
  • Service books are available in the pews to help you follow along with the prayers and hymns.
  • Our parish is handicap accessible, ensuring that everyone can comfortably participate in worship.
  • Children are always welcome. Our bathrooms are equipped with changing stations for your convenience. We also have a cry room—a quiet, enclosed space where little ones have more wiggle room but you can still see and hear the service.
  • Participation is up to you. Feel free to observe and participate as you feel comfortable.
  • Visitors are not expected to make any financial contributions.
  • Orthodox Christians who are properly prepared (and not under penance) are invited to partake of Holy Communion. Preparation includes, but is not limited to, faithful fasting, a recent confession, being at peace with others, and arriving on time for the divine services.
    • Visitors who are not Orthodox Christians are kindly asked not to approach the chalice during Holy Communion. If you are unsure whether you are blessed to receive, please refrain from coming forward until you have spoken with Father Jacob.
  • Following the Sunday Liturgy, we warmly invite you to join us for coffee hour and fellowship.

If you need assistance with anything during your visit, please don’t hesitate to let us know—we’re here to help!
