The Protection of the Virgin Mary (PTVM) Orthodox Church Fellowship Meals ministries foster hospitality and strengthen the bonds of our parish family through shared meals and acts of kindness. These ministries include:
- Coffee Hour: Families take turns bringing food for coffee hour after the Divine Liturgy each Sunday, fostering fellowship and connection among parishioners. Scheduled on a rotation basis, families typically contribute about twice every three months—once for a meal and once for lighter fare such as donuts or bagels. Each family serves as part of a team, coordinating contributions to ensure the responsibility is shared and manageable. Guidance on quantities and recipes for large groups is available to make participation easier. All families are encouraged to take part in this vital ministry, helping to strengthen our community through shared hospitality. Juli Grankowski coordinates the coffee hour schedule.
- Meal Trains: Providing meals, food gift cards, or food delivery to support new mothers, those who are ill, or families in need. Father will typically send opportunities to get involved via email.
- Funeral Luncheons: Preparing or coordinating meals to offer comfort and support to grieving families. Funeral luncheons are coordinated by Janet Andrus.
- Special Dinners: Organizing meals for significant parish events, such as the annual parish anniversary celebration, Lenten Pan-Orthodox Vespers, visits from the bishop, and other festive occasions.
Through these acts of service, the Fellowship Meals ministries embody Christ’s love and the spirit of Orthodox Christian hospitality.
